Mechanics and Thermodynamics of Materials
Hydrogen Diffusion
The influence of trapping on hydrogen permeation is studied both by a new diffusion model, including trapping already in the Gibbs energy, and by detailed experiments performed at partner institutions. The bubble formation in elastic-plastic materials is outlined in a detailed study. Particularly the concentration-dependent chemical diffusion coefficient is extracted from the study.
Stress State and Diffusion
The role of stress state in a diffusion process of a multicomponent system is outlined and demonstrated by an example. Particularly the role of vacancies is studied in detail.
